Recore’s Xentium DSP IP core plays a central role in a radically scalable General Stream Processor. In the CRISP heterogeneous many-core system with a General Purpose Processor, 45 Xentium DSP cores, 10 smart memory tiles and a Network-on-Chip (NoC), the Xentium cores in parallel perform the digital signal processing subtasks for various streaming applications.
On the General Stream Processor, a global satellite navigation application as low-end consumer example and digital beamforming as high-end professional example have been implemented, to show the scalability of the concept and design methodology. 5 to 39 Xentium cores were used in parallel depending on the application.
