Space applications need reliable data processing

23-08-2012

We present an Application Brief describing a functional multi-core DSP prototype for space applications based on Xentium DSPs. The FPGA-based prototype marries new concepts for self-repairing reconfigurable chips to proven space concepts such as LEON General Purpose Processors and proven high-speed interfaces such as SpaceWire. Recore developed the prototype dubbed MPPB (Massively Parallel Processor Breadboarding) in a TRP study under ESA contract 21986 and will present it on the ESA DSP day on August 28th, 2012.
