Embedded Software Engineer

General description 

Recore Systems has a position available for an embedded software engineer/architect within the system-on-chip (SoC) design team. The successful candidate for this position will design and create embedded control software for a multistandard broadcasting receiver SoC.

The qualified candidate has excellent C skills and is structured in all aspects of software development, including design, specification, implementation, documentation and version control. The candidate has a hands-on mentality and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.  The candidate is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team and able to communicate clearly to a wide public, including other engineers, customers and management.

Key responsibilities

The candidate will contribute to the embedded software development of a SoC for multistandard broadcasting receivers. The candidate's tasks within the development team are:

• Design and implementation of SoC control software
• specify, design, implement, test and document the SoC control software on ARM platform
• coordinate HW/SW requirements with hardware design team
• Develop audio/video source decoding solution on the reconfigurable SoC
• integrate platfrom software to develop digital broadcasting receiver

Required skills

• The qualified candidate has excellent C skills and is proficient in all aspects of software development, including design, specification, implementation, testing, documentation and version control;
• The candidate has experience in embedded systems' software development for SoC;
• The candidate is able to maintain a helicopter view while being hands-on simultaneously;
• The candidate has experience with architecting embedded software;
• BSc (or MSc) in engineering.

Desired skills 

• Knowledge of digital signal processing;
• Familiarity with digital broadcasting standards (e.g., DAB, DAB+, DMB).
