The concepts behind the Montium® technology originate from research conducted at the University of Twente (UT). A multi-disciplinary team of renowned researchers joined forces to realize the ultimate reconfigurable technology chip solution. Recore adopted the revolutionary ideas from the reconfigurable engineering group at UT and developed the research results into products that live up to the highest industry standards.

Recore and UT established a healthy collaboration that benefits both parties. The Montium technology remains an integral focus of research within the reconfigurable group at UT, ensuring continuous innovations and new developments and enabling Recore to secure its spot at the head of emerging new markets.

Prof. Dr. ir. Gerard J.M. Smit of UT holds the position of technical expert on Recore's Advisory Board. He is also the head of the chair Computer Architecture for Embedded Systems (CAES) and project leader of the reconfigurable research group at UT
